Underground Elective Program:  1 Day
In order to enrol in the underground elective course, participants must first have completed the 2 day Coal Surface Generic Induction and obtained their Generic Induction Passport


Full Program: 3 days (for those who need both surface and underground inductions)
Schedule:
Day 1: Monday
Day 2: Tuesday
Day 3: Wednesday
(3 consecutive days including the first Wed of each month)

Renewal Program: 2 days
Schedule:
Day 1: Tuesday
Day 2: Wednesday
(2 consecutive days including the first Wed of each month)

Program Intention
This program has been specifically designed for participant/s to obtain a credit card sized Generic Induction Passport which will then allow them onto a mine site.

Objectives and Outcomes
At the successful completion of the course, you will receive an Interim Passport from the trainer. This will be valid for use for 4 weeks only. The final Passport will be mailed to the address that you nominate on your enrolment form. This Passport is valid for 2 years.

After 2 years, you will be required to complete a shorter refresher training course, to bring you up to date with any changes that have been introduced since you completed your initial course.

• Legislation, rules and regulations
• General Safety
• Managing work hazards
• Tagging, isolation, permits and defect reports
• Traffic and mobile equipment procedures
• Introduction to ground support and control
• Emergency procedures

Each of the programs have been included on the National Register of Accredited Courses and Recognised Training Programs.  They also satisfy the requirements of the Core Units 'Work Safely' and 'Apply Local Risk Processes' from the relevant National Training Packages.
