Program Eligiblity:
You should already be employed within the mining industry or have prior experiences that can be verified.
Program Schedule: Courses can commence on either a Wednesday or Thursday (usually every second week)

Program Duration: 2 days
Start Time: 8:00AM (both days)

Program Intention
This program has been specifically designed for participant/s to obtain a qualification which will enable mine employees to undertake the role of and perform the duties and position requirements of a Mine Safety & Health Representative.
Objectives and Outcomes
On successful completion of this course, participants will have acquired the skills and knowledge to enable them to undertake the role of and perform the duties and position requirements of a Mine Safety & Health representative as detailed in the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act 1999 and the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999. If you can provide our Minimum numbers for one class we will also utilize your Investigation and Risk Management Systems giving your employees a more practically useful experience.
Program Contents:
RIIRIS301A Apply Risk Management Processes (S1)
This unit covers the application of the processes and tasks to conduct inspections and to identify analyse, assess risks, recommend treatment, and contribute to implementation of treatments and to monitor risks. It also covers participation in the preparation, testing and documentation of safe working instructions or equivalent.
RIIOHS301A Conduct Safety and Health Investigations (S2)
This unit covers the application of safety and health investigative processes at the operational level including the identification and collection of evidence, the analysis of evidence to identify the reasons for and results of the occurrence or situations, and the identification and documentation of courses of action to resolve and/or prevent reoccurence of the issues or problems.
RIICOM301A Communicate Information (S3)
This unit covers the function required to effectively communicate information with other persons in the mining industry. This includes communicating verbally, communicating in written and report form, participating in meetings, making presentations, and participating in operational level negotiations.
